About Me

Daniel Ramos Obregón is a Colombian artist, designer, drag performer, and educator. His work explores questions of human existence in contemporary society—examining identity, gender, race, and the relationship between mind and body, spirit and matter. Rooted in thinking through making, his practice spans media such as jewellery, ceramics, and leathercraft to create highly narrative objects and wearable art.

His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in events such as Munich Jewellery Week, the Latin American Contemporary Jewellery Biennial, the Lisbon Jewellery Biennial, and the Venice Design Biennale, as well as in museums and galleries including Liljevalchs Konsthall (Sweden), De Kerk / Museum Arnhem (Netherlands), the Buenos Aires National Museum for Decorative Arts (Argentina), MAMBO (Colombia), and the Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein (Germany), among others.

Daniel was a finalist in the accessories category at International Talent Support (2014) and has been nominated three times for Colombia’s national design award Premio Lápiz de Acero (2015, 2023).

He holds a BA in Design from Universidad de los Andes(2011)—where he also taught for over eight years—and an MA in Fashion Artefact from London College of Fashion (2014). In 2024, he completed the postgraduate program Research Lab: Craft! at Konstfack in Sweden.
